Commissioned in regiment of artillery from officers training Academy, Chennai on 29 April 1973, Colonel Yogesh Dewan is an alumni of defense institute of Psychological research (DIPR), N.Delhi. Having qualified on the Group Testing Officers (GTO) Course from DIPR and selection center east, Allahabad he did a three years tenure as GTO at 20 SSB Bhopal.
